Insurance and Your Rights

In Pennsylvania, customers have the legal right to choose the repair shop of their choice for vehicle repairs, regardless of an insurance company’s recommendations. Insurance providers cannot require you to use a specific shop, and your decision will not affect your claim.

We here at Barton’s Body Shop work with ALL insurance companies to make sure your vehicle gets repaired back to OE standards.

Sometimes the scene of an accident can be a bit crazy. You will be dealing with other drivers, police and, occasionally, tow truck drivers, trying to clear the accident from the road. If you have a body shop of choice, make sure to tell the tow truck driver on scene where you want your vehicle to go, as that is your legal right in Pennsylvania.

If you have a specific tow company in mind, you have the right to choose that too!

Customers have the right to choose any rental car company they prefer after an accident, regardless of their insurance company’s suggestions. Your insurer cannot require you to use a specific rental provider, but your choice to rent from somewhere else might put you on the hook for some of the cost.
